Methi Spinach Rice |
Of all the green leafy vegetables available in India , fenugreek or Methi is perhaps the mist distinctively flavoured . While it was many culinary uses , this herb- plant is also a very effective natural remedy for many ailments , and has long been used in myriad home remedies.
Dried fenugreek leaves , known as kasuri Methi, are used as a flavouring agent in numerous North Indian dishes .

Serves 4
Ingredients :
- 2 cups chopped fenugreek leaves
- 1 Cup Chopped Spinach
- 3 cups soaked and cooked brown rice with added salt
- 2 tsp oil
- 1/4 cup thinly sliced onions
- 1 and 1/2 tsp ginger- Green chilli paste
- Salt to taste
Preparation Method :
- Heat the oil in a broad non-stick pan , add the onions and saute on a medium flames for 1 to 2 minutes.
- Add the ginger- green chilli paste & saute on a medium flame for 30 seconds .
- Add the fenugreek leaves and Spinach , saute on a medium flame for 1 or 2 minutes .
- Add the brown rice and salt and gently , cook on a medium flame for 1 or 2 minutes , stirring occasionally.
- Serve hot .
