Dear all to
make this Ganesha Chaturthy Special I am
sharing something different Sweet with you. This is actually a Bengali Special
Dish called Sita-Bhog. A myth about this sweet’s name is that this Sweet is one
of the favourite sweet of Mata Sita.
Mainly this recipe
is famous in Bardhaman, a district of West Bengal. But Nowadays in West Bengal
incl’ Kolkata at each and every sweets shop you will find it. Sometimes its
White and sometimes its Yellow. But about the taste of it I can say. Its like
Heaven. You cannot resist your mouth. As the whole preparation is little
difficult than other sweets so price wise its little costly too.
But never
mind it’s a great feeling to share with you. Hope you all will enjoy it. So check

Ingredients :
Basmati Rice Flour : 1 Cup
Ghee : 4 tbsp
Cottage Cheese Grated : 1/2 Cup
Sugar : 4 Cups
Water : 6 Cups
Saffron : 10 strands
Milk : 1/2 Cup
Green cardamoms 4
Milk : 1/2 Cup
Green cardamoms 4
For Nikuti :
Milk Powder
: 1/2 Cup
Maida : 1 tbsp
Soda-Bicarbonate
: 2 pinch
Ghee : 3 Spoons
Curd : As
much Required
Black Cardamoms Powder: 2 pinch
Sugar Syrup 4 Cups
Black Cardamoms Powder: 2 pinch
Sugar Syrup 4 Cups
How To Cook :
- In a Mixing Bowl add rice flour, 2 tbsp ghee
- Add grated cottage cheese and mix well to make a smooth dough.
- Cover with a lid and keep aside for half an hour.
- In another pan add water, green cardamoms and sugar and put it into the oven, Heat until it make a light syrup.
- Soak saffron in warm milk.
- Now with a perforated Ladle prepared dough has to be strain like vermicelli into the Pan.
- Keep in refrigerator to set for 15 mins.
- Fry for a while(1 min.) then put fried vermicelli into the Syrup.
- Keep 10-15 mins. And spread on the tray to make it cool.
- Sprinkle saffron milk over rice vermicelli to add more flavor and color.
To Make Nikuti :
- In a Mixing Bowl add Milk powder,Maida, black cardamom powder, Soda-Bicarbonate,3 spoons ghee and curd as Much required to make a dough.
- Heat ghee in a deep frying pan.
- In another pan add water and sugar and put it into the oven, Heat until it make a light syrup.
- Make small 10-15 oval shapes and fry until golden brown in color.
- Put into the hot syrup.
Now mix
Nikuti and rice vermicelli together. Serve in any auspicious occasion to celebrate !
