Another Version Of Chole Masala
Prep time: 30 minsCook time: 20 mins
Ingredients
- 2 cups Chickpeas
- 1/2 cup Coriander leaves finely chopped
- 1 inch Cinnamon sticks
- 2 tsp Coriander seeds
- 1 tsp Cumin seeds
- 2-3 Cloves
- 1 Black cardamoms
- 1/2 tsp Fenugreek seeds / methi seeds
- 2 tbsp Dried Fenugreek leaves/kasoori methi
- 2 Green chilis
- 1 tsp Dried Mango Powder
- 1 tsp Garam Masala powder
- 1 tsp Red Chili powder
- 4 tbsp Ghee
- 1 Bay leaf
- Salt to taste
- Chat Masala to taste
- 1 medium size Onion
- 1 tsp Garlic paste
- 2 tsp Ginger paste
- 2 Red chili
- 4 tbsp White Oil
- 2 tbsp Lemon juice
- 1 medium size Tomato chopped
- Soak chickpeas over night.
- Boil chick peas with salt and little turmeric powder in pressure cooker.
- Roast and powder the dry spices like cinnamon stick, cumin seeds,coriander seeds, black cardamoms,cloves,fenugreek leaves, fenugreek seeds, red chilis.
- Heat oil & ghee in a pan.
- Add bay leaf.
- Next add chopped onion, garlic paste & ginger paste and green chili saute until fried well.
- Add chopped tomato, Dried spice powder,dried mango powder,red chili powder and garam masala and fry until oil separates.
- Add boiled chickpeas and little warm water.
- Sprinkle salt to taste & let it bring to boil.
- Now add chopped coriander leaves and cover with a lid.
- Sprinkle little chat masala and lemon juice before serving.
- Serve with bhature or poori.
