This time is going very hectic for me. Not getting time to concentrate on My Blog properly. Because so many  changes happened in my life though I am enjoying everyday . My little king started to go school. Only for one month he has to go school in Chennai city. Have busy with my household packing , as we are moving again from Chennai. I will miss Chennai very much its very tough time for me and my son and of course for my neighbor too, Now its very common question I think why your neighbor...? Yes they will miss my Son Tojo very much, I do not know how they became so close to my family. It will be very difficult for me to calm down Tojo when he will ask for his Roshu Akka,Patti,Hema Aunty and Tata!!! I do not know how I will manage it! Thank you God as you have given me such a lovely neighbor when I needed. But its promise from them they will come to my new address. They have to come yes and yes they have to come. We will never forget them.

As busy cooking less but today got little time to share one of my favorite Bengali Dal Recipe . Its the recipe of Moong dal. Its available everywhere . This moong dal preparation is serving in several occasion of Bengal.  A nice flavor coming when its serving with Plain warm rice. Hope you will enjoy it . Its easy dal recipe but authentic Bengal flavored .

Moong Dal is a good source of protein,iron and calcium.




Moong Dal Recipe | Traditional Bengali Moong Dal | Bhaja Mooger Dal Recipe

Cook time: 10 mins

Ingredients
  • 1 Cup Yellow Moong Dal
  • 1' Ginger grated/paste
  • 1 tsp Cumin seeds
  • 2 Red Chili
  • 1 Bay Leaf
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp Garam Masala Powder(Cinnamon,Cardamom,Clove)
  • 1 tbsp Ghee/Clarified Butter
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 Green chili (optional)
  • 2 tbsp Coriander Leaves (optional)
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tsp Oil
Cooking Directions
  1. Heat oil in a Kadai.
  2. Add moong dal and dry roast until one nice smell is coming. (stir continuously and take care about not to burn)
  3. Let it be cool for sometimes.
  4. Wash thoroughly.
  5. Pressure cook dal with ginger paste, little salt,turmeric powder and adequate water.
  6. Now put oil in the same kadai.
  7. Heat oil , add cumin seeds,bay leaf and red chili.
  8. When cumin starts to splutter, add cooked dal and enough water.
  9. Adjust salt and let it come into boil.
  10. Add garama masala powder and ghee,close with lid.
  11. When serving add finely chopped green chili and coriander leaves.
  12. Serve with plain rice.
