Pav-Bhaji | Mumbai Street Food | Maharashtrian Street Foods

Hello friends Good evening! After a typical north Indian delicacy today sharing a street food from Maharashtra. Yes Maharashtra where the Business City Mumbai is located. I visited Mumbai for the first time when I was in 7th standard. It was really a great tour for me. Visited the most popular places of Mumbai with my family. I enjoyed a lot! Still I remember all those places too. There only I had street food of Mumbai and one of  my favorite street food Pav-Bhaji. I love this one just. And after marriage I again shifted in Maharashtra but not in Mumbai but it was Pune. Again I got the flavor of Pav-Bhaji. But this time I got the chance to learn how to make Pav-Bhaji! So no miss!!! Sharing my Pav-Bhaji Recipe. Hope you will like it.

Pav-Bhaji | Maharashtrian Street Food | Mumbai Special

Ingredients
  • 6 pcs. Pav
  • 2 Medium size Potato
  • 3 Medium size Carrots
  • 1 Medium Green Capsicum
  • 1 Medium Yellow Bell Pepper
  • 1 Medium Red Bell Pepper
  • 2 Cups Mushroom (boiled and cut into pcs)
  • 1 Cup Green Peas (Boiled)
  • 2 Medium Tomato Chopped
  • 2 Green Chili Chopped
  • 1 tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 1 tsp Ginger paste
  • 1 tsp Garlic Paste
  • 1 Big size Onion finely chopped
  • 1 Cup Coriander Leaves Chopped
  • 2 tsp Fennel seeds
  • 4 Cloves
  • 1 inch Cinnamon
  • 2 tsp Garam Masala powder
  • 1 tsp Cumin Seeds
  • 2 tbsp Kasoori Methi
  • 2 tbsp Coriander Seeds
  • 5-6 Black Pepper
  • 2 tsp Dry Mango Powder(aamchur)
  • 2 Anistar
  • 1 Red Chili
  • 4 tbsp Oil
  • Salt to taste
  • 6 tbsp Butter
  • 1 Bay leaf
  • 2 tbsp Lemon juice



Cooking Directions
  1. Roast all the dry spices incl' kasoori methi and excl' dry mango powder and grind them into mixture. Keep aside.
  2. Boil all vegetables like Potato,Carrot and Green peas with little salt and turmeric.
  3. Mash all boiled vegetables excl' green peas.
  4. Heat oil in sauce pan.add bay leaf.
  5. Add green chili and chopped onion.Saute a little.
  6. Add ginger-garlic paste.
  7. Fry for sometimes.
  8. Add boiled and chopped Mushrooms.
  9. Add all three colors chopped bell pepper. Left few for garnishing.
  10. Now add chopped tomato saute a little.
  11. Add grounded dry with little water and fry until oil comes.
  12. Add mashed vegetables and mix well.
  13. Add dry mango powder.
  14. Adjust salt to taste.
  15. Add green peas and mix well.
  16. Add garam masala powder.
  17. Add coriander leaves and rest of the capsicum and 2 tbsp butter .
  18. Cover with a lid for sometimes to bring a special aroma over it.
  19. Sprinkle Lemon Juice over bhaji and serve.
  20. Now put one tawa onto gas stove.
  21. Spread butter on the pav and roast on tawa.

  1. Now delicious Pav-Bhaji is ready to serve .
  2. When serving , sprinkle little butter on bhaji and serve hot with buttery pav.
** You can add more vegetables as per your choice.
