Gatte Ki Sabji | Besan Ki Sabji | Rajasthani Gatte Curry

One more Authentic and Traditional Rajasthani recipe, I want to share with you. Its my one of my favorite Rajasthani delicacy. I got this recipe from my aunt. Who is belong to Rajasthan herself too. So I must say that its really the authentic one. Here gatte means besan or gram flours. A gram flour balls are preparing with some spices in a different ways. Then you can make any kind of Curry or Kadhi whatever you say in your style. But authentically Marwari peoples are making this one with traditional kadhi. So I am sharing this recipe with the Kadhi . Try this one. Hope you will like it.




Gatte Ki Sabji | Besan Curry | Rajasthani Gatte Kadhi

To make Gatte :


Ingredients
  • 2 Cups Besan / Gram Flours
  • 2 tsp Fennel seeds
  • 3 tbsp Kasoori Methi
  • 2 tbsp Coriander seeds
  • 1 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp Red Chili Powder
  • 2 tbsp Ghee
  • 4 tbsp Yogurt
  • 1 /2 tsp Baking soda
  • 2 tsp Carom seeds
  • Salt to taste
Cooking Directions
  1. Mix all the ingredients into a bowl.
  2. Add little water and make a dough with this ingredients.
  3. Keep aside for 1/2 an hour.
  4. Make 2-3 rolls, out of this dough.
  5. Cut small pcs. out of these rolls , as pics shown.
  6. Boil water in a sauce pan.
  7. Add besan or gatte pcs. into the boiling water.
  8. Boil 3-4 mins.
  9. Strained gatte from water and do not drain out the strained water,keep aside.
  10. Now gatte is ready.







To Make Gravy/Curry :


Ingredients
  • 1 tsp Mustard Seeds
  • 1 Bay Leaf
  • Cloves
  • 2 tbsp Ginger paste
  • 1 pinch Asafoetida
  • 2 tbsp Green Chili chopped
  • 1 Big Tomato Chopped
  • 1 Big Onion Chopped
  • 4 tbsp Cashew Paste
  • 3 tbsp Oil
  • 1/2 Cup Yogurt
  • 2 tbsp Red Chili powder
  • 3 tbsp Coriander Powder
  • 1 tbsp Garam Masala Powder
  • Salt To taste
  • Sugar to taste
Cooking Directions
  1. Heat oil in a pan.
  2. Add mustard seeds,.
  3. Add Bay Leaf.
  4. Add Cloves.
  5. Add ginger paste.
  6. Add asafoetida.
  7. When it starts to splutter.
  8. Add green chili chopped.
  9. Add chopped tomato and onion and saute for a while.
  10. Add yogurt and fry for sometimes.
  11. Add red chili powder and turmeric powder and saute .
  12. Add coriander powder and garam masala powder and cook until oils come out.
  13. Add Cashew paste and salt mix well.
  14. Add strained boiled water. It will be little thick gravy.
  15. Adjust seasoning.
  16. Now add boiled gatte or besan pcs.
  17. Cook for 2-3 mins.
  18. Now Gatte Ki sabji is ready to serve.
  19. Serve with plain rice or chapathi.
