Echorer Kofta Curry | Raw Jackfruits Balls in Gravy

Today sharing one delicious vegetarian recipe which is very tasty and grand too. It is really a nice choice for any home party or vegetarian party. This dish I hardly prepared because as it is little time consuming. But who cares if it is worthy to serve for any guests. But I am sure you will love it as it is rich in taste and texture. A shahi delicacy will be watering your mouth.  This goes very well with plain rice and chapathi too.
So try this recipe within this season as raw jackfruit is now easily available in market.

As per nutrition value raw jackfruit consists of high level of vitamin C,Vitamin A,iron and calcium too. It is cholesterol free too. So more or less it is healthy too.

Echorer Kofta | Raw Jackfruit Balls

Preparation time : 20 mins
Cooking Time : 30 mins
Serve : 3

Ingredients :

For Koftas /Balls :
4 Cups Echore / Raw Jackfruits - Cut into medium size cubes(bolied with turmeric powder and salt)
1 Medium size boiled potato
2 Tomato chopped
2 Green chili chopped
2 2"cinnamon sticks crushed
2 Green elaichi/cardamoms crushed
2 cloves crushed
2 Onions medium size finely chopped
1 tsp Ginger paste
2 tsp garlic paste
1 tsp Cumin powder
1/2 tsp Coriander powder
1/2 tsp Garam masala powder
Salt to taste
2 tsp turmeric powder
Oil for frying

For Gravy :
2 Tomato grated
3 tbsp Mustard Oil/White oil
2 Red Chili Whole
1 tsp Crushed Garam Masala (cinnamon+cloves+green cardamoms)
2 Bay leaves
2 tbsp cashew paste
1 tbsp raisin paste
1 pinch Asafoeatida
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp cumin powder
1/2 tsp garam masala powder
1/2 tsp Red chili Powder
2 tbsp Coriander leaves finely chopped

Cooking Directions :

Heat oil in pan.
Add crushed garam masala.
Add onion,ginger and garlic ,saute a little until raw smell goes.
Add tomato and fry again.
Add boiled raw jackfruit cubes and fry until cooked all.
Add cumin powder,coriander powder,garam masala powder,turmeric powder,salt to taste and fry .
When done switch off gas and  keep aside .
Add mashed potato and adjust salt.
Prepare 6 balls out of them. 
Heat oil in a kadai.
Fry them with little maida or flours.
Keep aside.

Now to make gravy-

Heat oil in a pan.
Add bay leaf,crushed garam masala,red chili,asafoetida .
Add chopped tomato grated, saute a little.
Add cashew and raisin paste,and all dry spices except garam masala powder.
Add salt and fry until oils come out.
Add 1 cup warm water and adjust salt.
Add prepared koftas .
Sprinkle garam masala and coriander leaves .
Allows standing time and serve with your choice.
