Dal Pinni | Jain Recipe

Cook time: 25 mins
Ingredients
- 1/2 Cup Green Moong Dal
- 1/2 Cup Chana Dal/Bengal Gram Dal
- 1/2 Cup Yellow Moong Dal
- 4 tbsp Yellow peas Dal/Matar Dal
- 1 tsp Turmeric Powder
- 1 medium Tomato chopped
- 1 tsp Ginger paste
- 1 tsp Green Chili paste
- 1 Cup Spinach chopped
- 1 Cup Cabbage chopped
- salt to taste
- 2 tbsp Oil
- 2 tbsp Lemon Juice
- 1/2 cup Coriander leaves chopped
For the Paste :
- 2 whole Dry red chili
- 1 tbsp Coriander seeds
- 2 Cloves
- 2 tsp Poppy seeds
- 2 tbsp Coconut grated
- 2 tbsp Cashew nuts
- 2 tbsp Oil
- 1 tbsp Black pepper
- Heat oil in a pan.
- Add all ingredients for spice paste and fry them until one smell comes out.
- Cool and blend in a mixture to a fine paste , keep aside.
To make dal :
- Clean ,wash and soak dals for 2 hrs.
- Drain and pressure cook with little salt,turmeric powder,tomato,green chili and ginger.
- Heat oil in a kadai.
- add cabbage and spinach leaves and saute about 3 minutes.
- Add cooked dal,prepared paste, and salt to taste.
- Simmer foe 5-6 minutes.
- Add lemon juice and coriander leaves and serve hot with paratha or warm rice.
