BENGALI MAHA-BHOJ

As I said to you that I have a plan for Holi......so I did it.I Organised a simple bengali menu, which can be said BHOG.Hope you will enjoy it.....after the lunch I got an expressive word from My Husband that was "awsome".So I wanted to share with you this specific celebration of Home............But I have done a little modification to this menu......I entered a fry dish this is Potato Fry with Gram Flour.

HAPPY HOLI MENU :
  • Khichuri
  • Labra r Tarkari
  • Beguni
  • Aaloo Bhaja
  • Tomato Chutney

Khichdi is kind of dish, where Rice,Lentil like Moong daal, and several vegetables are mixed.........It is very tasty..........It is cooked with bay leaf, whole red chili, cumin seeds, and little ginger paste…. In our Bengali tradition that type of dish is served for a puja(worship) occassion... It takes very little time to make.....At kolkata when rainy season comes I remember My mom usualy cook this particular dish..........

Labra r Tarkari is a kind of dish where a mixed vegetable are cooked with “Panchforon” means … Cumin seeds,Onion seeds,Fenugreek seeds,Fennel seeds and Mustard seeds……….Its spread a great smell when all the mix vegetables are cooked together………

Brinjal and Potato are fried with some Bengal gram flour, red chili powder, onion seeds, turmeric powder, poppy seeds and a pinch baking soda to crunch……..
It brings mind blowing taste to the fry……

Tomato chutney is basically a sweet dish…
Tomato chutney is made with Panchforon where mustard seeds are used little more. And lots of sugar………is used here…..
