I love this recipe…This mutton masala recipe is from my mom..she cooked it so deliciously…….I just took the chance to have it in every week…In Kolkata there was a restaurant named “Gol barir bikhatto kosha mangsho”…I love this blacky blacky mutton masala,My mom tried it at home in one chance…….and I remember I note the recipe at that same time from my mom………Now I love to cook this..and My Hubby says it looks to Rich in flavour… and he loves my Mom’s recipe…there is a trick to do blacky mutton masala……..and I want to share with you ….try it……whoever knows the trick,tell me…it is in the recipe also….comment me for which ingredient it takes black color…. In this recipe its not in black color..I had done it in this color for my in-law-parents's request...But I promise you, I will defintely post the blacky mutton masala picture after some days later........But You have to say the trick to between this time...Cheer it.............:)

Friends I want to share with you a very chatpata or delicious recipe here…This is yummy (:p) ………Indian Bread which has taste of variety…….Normal chapatti is always used for dinner here in India………But to taste different We have to make it delicious in various style…some of them I want to share with you…It can be eaten with mixed pickle or some Indian curry…Lets check some of them day by day……….I used to do this one very often…….and its My creation You can say…..Its yummy to taste…My Hubby like this very Much……….Enjoy it…


Uttapam :

Uttapam... I Love This Dish...And my family too...Last Tuesday I tried at home...My in-law parants Loved this too much..and it is very easy to cook...a perfect breakfast which takes less time to prepare... and healthy too...

Ingredients :

1. Semolina (suji) 2 cups
2. Curd 1 cup
3. Onion 1 middle size (chopped)
4. Green Chili 4-5 (chopped)
5. Tomato 2 (chopped)
6. Coriander leaves 1 cup (chopped)
7. Black Pepper Powder 3 tsp
8. Salt to taste
9. White Oil 2 tbsp

Method :

1. Mix all the ingredients(without oil) with little water.

*** It should be a thiken gravy.

2. Soak for 2 hours.
3. Heat little oil in a pan.
4. Spread 1 big spoon of mixture on the pan with thiken base(Like pizza base).
5. Low the flame.
6.Cover with a lid for 5-8 mins.
7. Uttapam is ready.
8.Serve hot with sambhar.

A Bengali style Sauce. It is a very famous chutney or sauce in any bengali occasion. After all the main foods serving it serves but before the dessert items. But in other state it is shown that sauce is serving with Snacks and of course early the main course items. Anyways, It can be sweet or sour too. As you prepare. Tomato chutney is very common in Bengal. You can make it  more Rich by adding dry fruits(Cashew,Raisins,) along with this. I tried it with little raw mango. Due to tomato and raw mango it becomes little sweet and sour. And  about taste, I will not say... You try this and Find out the taste... Ha ha ha... )

So one easy recipe for You...


  • Tomato 2(chopped)
  • Raw Mango 1(Chopped)
  • Paanch Foron/Five Dry Spices (Cumin seeds,Fenugreek,Fennel,Mustard Seeds,Onion seeds)
  • Roasted Powder Of Fennel
  • Roasted Powder Of Cumin seeds
  • Oil 2 tsp
  • Sugar 4 tbsp
  • Salt 1 pinch
  • Red Chili 1

  • Heat oil in a pan.
  • Add paanch foron and red chili to it.
  • Add Chopped tomatoes and mango pcs.
  • Cook for some times.
  • Add Sugar and salt.
  • Cover with a lid.
  • Cook for sometimes.
  • Sprinkle roasted cumin and fennel powder.
  • Khatta-Mitha chatney is ready to serve.

I just want to share with you a special Sunday menu which I was cook for our guest in last Sunday.There was recipes for veg/non-veg dishes which were so mouthwatering , that my husband explained it like a “kolkata’s dishes” which he ever tasted at Kolkata ………But I must say It was his everyday’s words…

As I said to you that I have a plan for I did it.I Organised a simple bengali menu,which can be said BHOG.Hope you will enjoy it.....after the lunch I got an expressive word from My Husband that was "awsome".So I wanted to share with you this specific celebration of Home............But I have done a little modification to this menu......I entered a fry dish this is Potato Fry with Gram Flour.

  • Khichuri
  • Labra r Tarkari
  • Beguni
  • Aaloo Bhaja
  • Tomato Chutney

Khichdi is kind of dish,where Rice,Lentil like Moong daal,and several vegetables are mixed.........It is very tasty..........It is cooked with bay leaf,whole red chili,cumin seeds, and little ginger paste…. In our Bengali tradition that type of dish is served for a puja(worship) occassion... It takes very little time to make.....At kolkata when rainy season comes I remember My mom usualy cook this particular dish..........

This is one of special Sahi menu of Badsahi Time Periods. In quality its a very Rich and Taste wise its you have to say Aaha La Jawab...!!! Slight sweet in taste too.Really a spellbound item.All ingredients which are using to make this preparation,also the Rich and Costly. In Our culture it is making for the very special reason at all. By those days these ingredients were very rare to have. It is very difficult to find in the regular market. That's why it was reserved for the Sahi moments only. But nowadays all the ingredients are available in the market very easily.So why not in home ?Yes , I usually make  it at home now.And Now the recipe for you also.
Prepare it in a Badsahi Style... You will feel it.

  1. 1and 1/2 cups Basmati rice.
  2. 2 carrots (finely chopped and)
  3. Beans 5-6 sticks (cut into small size)
  4. 1 cup Green peas (boiled)
  5. 2 green chilies (chopped)
  6. 1 tsp ginger paste.
  7. 1 tbsp Sahi Jeera 1tsp
  8. White Pepper 1tsp(shahi marich)
  9. Black Pepper 1tsp
  10. 1 Bay leaf
  11. Jaiphal 
  12. Jafran soaked in 2 tbsp Milk.
  13. Whole Garam Masala (2 inch Cinnmon stick, 2 green cardamom, 4 cloves)
  14. 2 tbsp oil.
  15. Ghee 2tbsp
  16. Salt to taste.
  17. Sugar to taste
  18. Dry fruits : Cashew - 10-12, Almonds - 4-5(cut into slice),Pista- 10-12,Raisin-10-12.
*** Soak basmati rice in water for 1 hour.
****Roast and Grind White Pepper,Back Pepper, Jaiphal.

Method :

  1. Heat oil in a pan.
  2. Add jeera and whole garam masala to it,when jeera starts to splutter.
  3. Add all vegetables like carrots,beans,green chillies to it and saute for some times.
  4. Add ginger to it.
  5. Add soaked Rice and 2and half cup of water cover and cook  for some times.
  6. Add all dry fruits to it.
  7. Add salt and sugar to taste.
  8. Add green peas.
  9. Cover and cook till the rice is done.
  10. Add Grinded Masala and Mix it properly.
  11. Add Soaked Jafran and Mix.
  12. Add Ghee and mix .
  13. Serve hot.
