Patrani Machhi | Bhetki Paturi | Steamed Bhetki wrapped in Banana Leaf

Patrani Machhi have you heard it before. May be yes. Because it is a very popular fish recipe for a selected states but spices only varies. In Bengal it is mostly popular in Hilsa fish and Bhetki Fish. It brings a heritage value if it is served in any of Bengal big ceremony like marriage. Today sharing patrani machhi recipe with the taste of bengal tradition . In bengali culture to make patrani machhi or bhetki paturi whatever you say it is little spicy with the mustard seeds paste and other ingredients. It will be little chili flavored and pure flavor of mustard oil. Patrani or Paturi means leaf,as banana leaf is also used here. One leafy smell is giving another flavor to it,which I like very much, otherwise who does not love the leafy smell , can omit the banana leaf and   can use silver foil too. It is a traditional and famous fish recipe in our culture.Who ate this one they are aware and who did not eat still now just have it and you can find another Treasure recipe from Bengal I think. My mom was doing for so many times for us. And now I am serving for my Mom. Mom hope you will like it definitely.

Nutritional value of Bhetki fish is really good. As it is a sea food,so it is enriched with the Protein, Calcium, Fat, Carbohydrate and Iron also.So more or less it is a healthy and tasty fish too.
